TOLONO, IL – Two people were hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon after a semi truck collided with a passenger vehicle on I-57 south of Champaign.
According to the News-Gazette, the collision occurred between Monticello Road and the town of Pesotum at about 12:30 p.m.
Troopers say the semi-truck was heading south when its driver attempted to change lanes and collided with a passenger vehicle. The vehicle then skidded off the roadway and overturned.
Both occupants of the passenger vehicle were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The truck’s driver declined medical treatment at the scene.
