Publish Date: 2023, 03, 15

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL — A 35-year-old Champaign woman was cited Monday for causing a two-vehicle crash on East University Avenue in Urbana, reports WCIA.

Urbana Police said the collision took place at the intersection with North Broadway Avenue shortly before 8:00 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate one vehicle was carrying an adult and three juveniles and the second vehicle was occupied by two adults. It was unclear which vehicle the causing driver was operating, but one vehicle failed to stop at a red light, leading to a crash.

The two adults from the second vehicle were taken to an area hospital for an evaluation. Their vehicle, which sustained significant damage, had to be towed from the site.

Authorities said no fatalities were reported, and there were no indications of life-threatening injuries.
