Publish Date: 2023, 02, 27

KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL — A 20-year-old man died following a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on East 4000 North Road in east Bourbonnais, reports Country Herald.

Bradley Police said multiple units responded to the scene in the 2700 block of the road shortly after receiving calls at about 4:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows a black Chevrolet Camaro traveled off the roadway and collided with a utility pole, causing it to snap. The vehicle then hit a tree in the front yard of a nearby residence before coming to a stop.

First responders rushed a passenger, 20, to Riverside Medical Center, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver, 28, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, was later arrested. They have since been charged with Reckless Homicide and was booked into Jerome Combs Detention Center.

An investigation by Illinois State Police remains ongoing.
