Chebanse Man Loses His Life in Accident with Semi

Last Updated: 18 December, 2012

Sunday night, a 71-year-old Chebanse man lost his life when his car crashed into the back of a semi-trailer truck on Route 45/52.

On December 16th, Milliard Ramsey was sitting in his car at a stoplight behind a semi trailer truck on Route 45/52 at the intersection of South Tec Drive on the south end of Kankakee. When the light changed, Ramsey put his foot on the accelerator and drove into the back of the truck. It was determined that Ramsey did not attempt to break before hitting the truck.

The air bags were deployed in the car but Ramsey was not wearing a seatbelt. Ramsey was taken to the emergency room of Riverside Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:51 p.m.  An autopsy was scheduled for December 17th to determine cause of death.
