Collision in Riverdale injures Eight, including Three Children

Last Updated: 11 July, 2012

A collision involving two vehicles on the far south side of Chicago sent one car crashing into a building. Eight people were taken to the hospital as a result.

A Pontiac Grand Am with three young men inside was heading towards the intersection of 136th Street and Indiana Avenue in the Riverdale neighborhood. Just before 10 p.m. on Monday night the Pontiac collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer at the intersection.

The Pontiac was speeding at the time and the force of the impact threw the Pontiac into the front porch of a nearby home. All three young men in the Pontiac were taken to area hospitals, including Mount Sinai Advocate Christ and Stroger hospitals. Three children and two adults in the Trailblazer were taken to Metro South Medical Center in Blue Island. Criminal charges are not expected to be filed although the driver of the Pontiac is expected to receive several citations.

An accident can cause injuries that last for years. If you or a loved one knows someone who has been injured in a car accident, call Spiros Law, P.C. at (815) 929-9292 to explore your legal rights.
