Publish Date: 2023, 01, 23

WATSEKA, IL – Police arrested the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash in central Watseka on Thursday evening after he fled the scene, reports the Daily Journal.

The incident happened around 5:31 p.m. in the area of 300 West Walnut Street, which is between North 1st Street and North Kay Street.

The investigation indicates that a car crashed into a utility pole on West Walnut and left the scene. Police found wires from the broken pole in the roadway, which prompted closures on West Walnut.

Authorities found and arrested the suspected driver, identified as Ryan M. Brucker, in the parking lot of a nearby retail store. Brucker faces charges that include leaving the scene of a crash and possession of a controlled substance.

No injuries have been reported in connection to the event.
