Last Updated: 10 October, 2014

A 16-year-old boy, whose name was not yet released by police authorities, perished in a vehicular crash on U.S. Route 157 near Commerce in Edwardsville, Illinois, KSDK reported on October 3.

According to the Edwardsville Police Department, the vehicular accident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. when a car heading south on Route 157 collided with a car heading north along the same route.

The car traveling south was operated by a 16-year-old and another 16-year-old was in the passenger seat. The passenger in the vehicle was killed in the accident. The northbound vehicle was driven by a 47-year-old Edwardsville woman. Both of the drivers were taken to local hospitals and  were expected to make a full recovery.

Preliminary investigations of the police showed that the 16-year-old lost control of his vehicle, but the details explaining contributing factors to the crash have not yet been definitively determined.

The attorneys of Spiros Law, P.C., offer their sincere condolences to the friends and family suffering during this difficult time.
