Farm vehicle collisions

Last Updated: 03 June, 2010

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Safety Database, the most frequent accident that farm vehicles are involved in are rear-end collisions because it is hard to determine the speed of slow-moving vehicles.

Drivers are encouraged to recognize the slow-moving vehicle signs that are required to be posted on farm vehicles. These signs are designed to be seen from distances up to 500 feet away because of the fluorescent colors used on them.

It is also encouraged that drivers not expect the driver of farm vehicles to be able to move to the shoulder when they see a car coming because road conditions do not always allow for this.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a farm vehicle accident, contact the Kankakee car accident lawyers of Spiros Law, P.C. by calling (815) 929-9292.
