DANVILLE, IL – Three people were injured in a head-on crash south of Danville last Friday, according to the News-Gazette.
The collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m. when a vehicle heading south on Georgetown Road crossed into the oncoming lanes near East Forrest Avenue and slammed into a northbound vehicle.
The 18-year-old driver of the southbound vehicle was flown to a local hospital with serious injuries. A 25-year-old woman and a 61-year-old woman who were occupants of the northbound vehicle were also taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The 18-year-old was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road, improper lane usage, and driving too fast for conditions.
Georgetown Road was blocked between Lyons Street and Greenwood Avenue while crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
