The Kankakee Police Department in Illinois has reported a single-vehicle accident along U.S. Highway 45/52 and Interstate 57 in Kankakee, which occurred around 5 a.m. on Monday, May 23 and resulted in the death of three individuals.

Kankakee County Coroner Robert Gessner identified the victims as 25-year-old Milford resident Lukas Frye, who was identified as the driver of the vehicle; 43-year-old Iroquois resident Eddie Sarkozi; and 56-year-old Kankakee resident, Randy Gates. According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle in question was a black Nissan Altima that crashed into a utility pole along the highway. The vehicle continued another 75 feet into a ditch and the engine was displaced from the car. Although alcohol was found in the car, toxicology reports are yet to be received.
