Kankakee Teen Killed in Car Accident

Last Updated: 22 July, 2013

Last Thursday night, a series of three separate car accidents in less than an hour culminated in the tragic death of Kaelynn Fay, 18, a Kankakee resident and recent graduate of Bishop McNamara Catholic High School.

At 11:03 Thursday night, Fay was driving with a passenger on Warner Bridge Road when she swerved to avoid a construction barricade and lost control of her car, which then rolled off the road and came to rest in a ditch. Both girls managed to escape the car.

Minutes later, a second car came through and had a similar accident due to the same barricade, though all parties at the scene avoided injury.

However, a third car soon passed and hit Fay, who is thought to have been standing close to the shoulder of the roadway. Sources report that she was pronounced dead by 11:48 p.m.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Ms. Fay’s family and loved ones.
