KCSO, crews respond to accident on I-57 in north Chebanse

KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL — Emergency crews were called to a collision Friday afternoon on Interstate 57 in north Chebanse, according to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck was reported on the southbound lanes near mile marker 304, just south of West 6000S Road. It was first reported by the KCSO at about 12:48 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but at the time of the report, first responders were en route to the scene, suggesting possible injuries. Motorists were instructed to use extra caution as they approach the area.

As of this writing, the sheriff’s office has not indicated the cause of the crash or the number of vehicles involved. No injuries have been confirmed.
