Man killed after being thrown from his motorcycle

Last Updated: 13 July, 2016

A motorcycle accident that occurred in a rural area on U.S. Route 26 and McGinty Road in Amboy in Lee County, Illinois at around 9 p.m. on Friday, July 8 claimed the life of an individual.

According to the preliminary investigations of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, two people – 36-year-old Justin Hopson and 30-year-old Eva Hopson – were riding a motorcycle along the highway when they hit a deer. The Hopsons were thrown into the road and Justin Hopson, the driver of the motorcycle, got hit by a passing semi-truck.

Justin was declared dead at the scene of the accident while Eva was transported to the Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon to get treatment for her injuries of an unknown nature.

The attorneys of Spiros Law, P.C., understand that motorcycle accidents are far too often deadly affairs and their thoughts go out to the victims and their loved ones.
