WATSEKA, IL – A woman went to the hospital last Wednesday morning after three cars collided along a busy roadway in east-central Iroquois County, reports Iroquois County’s Times-Republic.
The incident happened at 7:16 a.m. on Route 1, just north of East 2400 North Road, which is just west of Pittwood.
The investigation indicates that three passenger vehicles were travelling southbound in a row on Route 1 when the first vehicle lost control and rotated in the roadway. Both the second and third passenger vehicles then struck the first vehicle along Route 1.
Medics transported the 64-year-old driver of the first vehicle, identified as Gloria A. Terrell, to the hospital with non-critical injuries. Authorities say she was driving a 2007 Chevrolet HHR.
Neither of the other two drivers sustained injuries.
Police say that icy road conditions were likely a major factor in the crash. A full investigation is underway.
