Multiple charges against woman in Illinois car accident

The Chicago Tribune reported that fifty-nine-year-old Mt. Prospect, Illinois resident Leslie Thurow is facing charges of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, aggravated driving under the influence in an accident involving personal injury, and aggravated driving under the influence, after causing a car accident that hurt an Illinois State Trooper.

According to Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond, Thurow had been driving northbound on Interstate 294 near west suburban Berkeley on the Tri-State Tollway when she hit the unidentified trooper during a traffic stop near St. Charles Road at around 2:46 p.m. on Saturday, September 6.

Bond said that as Thurow tried to flee the scene of the accident she caused another crash that resulted in a car rolling over, injuring an 83-year-old man, a 73-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man, a 13-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old boy.
