Multiple-Vehicle Crash with School Bus Injures 20

Last Updated: 20 December, 2012

A school field trip was interrupted when one of the buses was hit in a multiple-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.

The school bus was one of nine buses in a caravan from Palombi Middle School in Lake Villa taking the kids to a Chicago Wolves game at Allstate Arena in Rosemont. At about 9:30 A.M., the buses were on eastbound Interstate 94 near Deerfield. At that time a box truck hit another box truck that was directly behind the school bus. The second truck then propelled into the school bus.

Of the 43 children on the bus, 20 were injured and taken to area hospitals including Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge and Lake Forest Hospital. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. The condition of the drivers of the two trucks is not known at this time.

A planned fun day of a school field trip can be disrupted when a multiple-motor vehicle accident occurs during the trip. If your or a loved one knows someone recovering from injuries suffered in a multiple vehicle accident, call Spiros Law, P.C. at (815) 929-9292 for professional legal representation.
