One man killed after three-car collision occurs near New Lenox

Last Updated: 14 August, 2012

A 26-year-old Joliet man was killed after a three-car collision occurred near New Lenox last week.

According to Will County Sheriff’s department officials, the accident occurred as the man drove his Camaro into the intersection of Cedar and Delaney Roads and his car was rear-ended by another vehicle that was being driven by a 31-year-old man.

The collision caused the Camaro to spin across the lanes of traffic before colliding with a third vehicle that entered the intersection. The 26-year-old man was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital and was pronounced dead later that night due to injuries sustained in the collision.

A passenger in the first vehicle was also transported to the hospital after suffering from neck pain. The two other drivers denied medical attention at the scene. The 31-year-old driver was cited for failure to reduce speed in order to avoid the accident.
