Ottawa Boy Chased and Bitten by Two Dogs

Last Updated: 06 April, 2012

An Ottawa boy was bitten by two dogs on Monday, April 2, 2012 and was taken to the emergency room.

The seven-year-old was chasing another boy just before 5 p.m. on Monday afternoon when the first boy chased the other into the second boy’s house. The house contained two dogs, a Labrador retriever and a mixed-bred, who began to go after the first boy. He ran out of the house with the dogs following him.

The boy was found to have dog bites on one arm and both thighs. He was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital and treated in the emergency room. LaSalle County Animal Control discovered that the dogs had not been given vaccination shots since 2009. The dogs were taken for a 10-day observation period at a veterinarian’s office, per the owner’s permission.

Dog bites can lead to serious health issues. If you or someone you know has injuries related to dog bites, call Spiros Law, P.C. at (815) 929-9292 for professional representation.
