Over 400,000, Chevy Cruzes Recalled by General Motors

Last Updated: 27 June, 2012

General Motors (GM) announced last week that they are recalling over 400,000 cars dues to a problem with an Engine shield.

The Detroit company received reports in March of 2012 that two of the Chevy Cruze models had caught fire and were engulfed resulting in complete vehicle damage. The cause of the fires are related to an engine shield that is placed in front of the car to protect the engine.

Unfortunately this plastic shield can also trap oil that is accidentally spilled or dripped during oil changes. The recall affects Chevy Cruze 2011 and 2012 models that were sold in the United States starting in September 2010.

Defective products can cause harmful situations in day-to-day life. If you or a loved one knows someone who has been adversely affected by a faulty product, call Spiros Law, P.C. at (815) 929-9292 to explore your legal options.
