Pedestrian Dies from Injuries After Being Hit by an SUV

Downtown Pontiac was the scene of a death investigation after a 59-year-old woman was hit by an SUV while walking on June 30, 2011. Carol Lynch died on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from her injuries.

The Pontiac resident was stepping off the curb and into the path of a 2001 Ford Explorer when she was hit. The driver was a 17-year-old whose name has not been released by authorities at this time.  It is reported that Lynch may have been talking on the phone when she was struck.
