Salad bags recalled for possible salmonella contamination

Last Updated: 27 April, 2012

Nearly 756 bags of salad have been recalled after it was found that they could be contaminated with the salmonella.

According to food safety officials, the recall involves Dole Food Co.’s Seven Lettuces salads after a random sample testing in New York was done and came back positive for salmonella contamination.

The bags of salad have been recalled in Wisconsin, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, New York, Mississippi, and Indiana. The recalled bags of salad have a ‘Use By’ date of April 11, 2012. Food officials are suggesting that if consumers have bags of salad with this date that the throw them away.
