Semi-truck, car collision leaves two injured

Last Updated: 26 November, 2012

Two people were seriously injured after a semi-truck and car collided Wednesday morning.

According to Kankakee County Sheriff’s department, the crash took place just north on 2000N on Warner Bridge Road. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident at this time, but have stated that the foggy conditions may have been a contributing factor.

When police arrived at the scene, they closed the roadway for multiple hours in order to attend to victims and clear the wreckage. Two people were extricated from the car and taken to Riverside Medical Center in order to be treated for serious injuries. Officials with the sheriff’s department have stated that they will release further details as soon as they gather them.

Semi-trucks are very large vehicles that can cause serious injury if involved in an accident. Distracted driving is dangerous no  matter what type of vehicle, but a semi-truck driver must be even more careful because of the vehicle’s sheer size.
