Senate subcommittee to question GM’s investigation

Last Updated: 17 July, 2014

A Senate commerce subcommittee is set to question General Motors’s CEO Mary Barra on July 17 about the process by which U.S. attorney Anton Valukas conducted an investigation into the company’s faulty ignition switch fiasco, the Associated Press reported.

Senators are also set to question the conclusion that it was the fault of one person – engineer Ray DeGiorgio – that substandard ignition switches were attached to the cars involved and that GM management was not involved. There are suggestions that Valukas purposefully did not target anyone above a certain pay grade in order to protect the higher-ups.

Through this ordeal, GM is being forced to take responsibility for their faulty manufacturing. If you have been injured because of a defective car or other product, the attorneys at Spiros Law, P.C., may help you pursue financial compensation for any damages.
