Last Updated: 27 April, 2012

An early morning collision between a school bus and an SUV threw a toddler from the SUV.

On April 23rd, the bus from the Indian Prairie School District collided with the SUV at South 248th Street and Lapp Lane in Naperville near the Aurora border. The bus went off the road and across the ditch while the SUV was found flipped over in the ditch.

A toddler that was in the SUV was thrown from the vehicle. According to Naperville police, that child was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. The driver of the SUV was taken to Edward Hospital after being extricated from the vehicle. Another child and the driver of the bus were sent to Edward Hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. There were no children on the school bus.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
