SUV Collides with Taxi, Goes Through Dunkin’ Donuts Front Door.

An SUV crashed into a Dunkin’ Donuts store in downtown Chicago after colliding with a taxi cab on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Two people were injured as a result of the accident.

The crash took place at the intersection of South Wells and West Adams around 5:45 in the morning. When the two cars crashed, the SUV was pushed towards the Dunkin’ Donuts store and became stuck in the front entrance of the donut shop.

There was at least one employee at the store which was open for business at the time of the accident. No one in the building was reported to be injured. The two drivers were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

Central District officers are investigating the cause of the accident. Citations and charges for the accident have not been reported at this time.
