T.V. anchor recovering after suffering a dog bite on air

Last Updated: 10 February, 2012

A television anchor that suffered serious injury after a dog bite occurred on live television has now been released from the hospital.

The incident occurred Wednesday while the woman was during a news story on an 85-pound Argentine Mastiff that was rescued from an icy pond. A firefighter, also the dog’s owner, rescued the dog from the lake.

Paramedics arrived at the scene in order to transport the woman to the hospital. She suffered injuries to her face and she had to have reconstructive lip surgery in order to correct it. The dog will now be quarantined for 10 days at the Denver Animal Shelter.

The dog’s owner has stated that this incident does not reflect the animal’s demeanor because he is usually very loving. The dog’s vaccinations are all up to date, according to the owner.
