Two girls injured in Kankakee bicycle accident

Two young girls, ages 11 and 12, were injured after the bike they were riding on was struck by a car in Kankakee.

According to police officials, the two girls were riding a minibike on the side of the road when a driver traveling in the same direction, struck them. Both girls were injured in the accident and one was taken to Riverside Medical Center and the other to Provena St. Mary’s Hospital.

The minibike did not have any reflectors on it at the time of the collision and the driver of the Kia Elantra stated that he could not see the victims. He was not cited by police after the collision.
