Two people killed in separate Illinois crashes

Last Updated: 10 July, 2012

Two people were killed in separate crashes that both occurred Thursday in Kosciusko County.

According to the sheriff’s department, a 39-year-old woman was the passenger on a motorcycle when it was involved in a collision on U.S. 30.

The woman’s husband was operating the motorcycle when the back tire blew out causing the couple to be ejected and the motorcycle to flip over and skid across the roadway. As it was rotating, it struck the 39-year-old woman. Her husband was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.

The second accident occurred after the driver of a Ford Contour was traveling on County Road 350 when he struck a utility pool after losing control of the car. The driver of the car lost control after overcorreting the car when traveling over a small hill in the road. The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency crews arrived.
