Two people were injured after a two-car accident in Champaign

Two people were injured in car accident in Champaign on Monday afternoon.

According to police officials, the accident occurred at Mattis Avenue and William Street when a 55-year-old woman driving a car collided with a 52-year-old woman who was driving a sport utility vehicle.

Witnesses told police that the 55-year-old woman failed to yield at an intersection and this caused the two cars to collide. The collision caused the two cars to come to stop on opposite sides of the road. One woman was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana and the other was transported to Provena Covenant Medical, also in Urbana.
