Publish Date: 2022, 12, 15

It has been reported that a collision has resulted in the death of two people and injuries to another. The collision occurred on Monday, December 12th, in southern Iroquois Count on U.S. Route 45 at 1190 North Road, which is approximately three miles south of Onarga and approximately 30 miles southwest of downtown Kankakee. The Illinois State Police reported that the crash was a result of a police pursuit of one of the vehicles. According to the Illinois State Police news release, the Paxton Police Department and Ford County Sheriff’s Department were pursuing a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE 350 that was traveling south on U.S. Route 45 near 1190 North Road. The Mercedes, while trying to evade the Police, crossed over the center line and struck a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that was traveling north on U.S. Route 45, head on. After colliding with the Jeep Wrangles, the Mercedes spun out and crashed into a 2004 Ford F150. Both the drivers of the Mercedes and the Jeep Wrangler were pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Ford was transported to an area hospital with injuries. The reason for the pursuit of the Mercedes was not reported by the ISP. Jayme Bufford, an ISP trooper, sent a statement to the Daily Journal saying, “The investigation is open and ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.”

Immediately after a car crash, you may be left feeling overwhelmed with the medical bills associated with recovery from a serious injury, which, depending on your insurance and injuries, can be hundreds of thousands of dollars. Additionally, you may want to file a claim with the company that insures the other driver involved.
