Woman Hit and Killed by Drunk Driver on Southside Chicago

Pulaski Road was the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of a 56-year-old Chicago woman.

Judith Branwell, 56, was getting into a car that was parked in the 6500 block of South Pulaski during the early morning hours on Saturday, September 22nd. Around 2:00 a.m. another car crashed into the Chicago resident. Branwell was taken to an area hospital where she died around 11:25 p.m., according to the office of the Cook County Medical Examiner

The driver of the car that crashed into Branwell was identified as Jesus Luna of Burbank.  The 51-year-old man was charged with DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol count of .08, operating a vehicle without insurance, failure to reduce speed, reckless driving, and aggravated DUI causing an accident and death. He was scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday afternoon.
