Woman narrowly escapes when vehicle crashes at store in Chicago

Last Updated: 29 April, 2014

Sixty-one-year-old Chicago, Illinois resident Marilyn McDaniel was nearly killed when a pickup truck crashed into the Farmers Food Basket she was shopping at, located at East 71st Street and South King Drive on Friday, April 18. Luckily, she was able to avoid becoming a fatality when she stepped away from the lottery counter just in time.

Instead, McDaniel incurred a broken leg and severe bruises on her body after the truck pinned her against an ATM machine.

The pickup truck struck two other vehicles prior to crashing at the store and caused the injuries and hospitalization of five people in total. The victims incurred non-life-threatening wounds.

The truck driver received a ticket from police officers for causing the accident, but other details regarding his charges were unclear.
