Wrong-way Driver Accident on Pulaski Avenue Takes Life of Woman, 67

Last Updated: 27 December, 2012

A vehicle going the wrong way on a street resulted in the death of a woman from the Logan Square neighborhood on Saturday morning.
Obdulia Villalobos, 67, was riding in the backseat of her daughter’s 2001 Volkswagon Golf as the daughter drove southbound on North Pulaski  Avenue on December 22nd. Around 4:45 a.m., the vehicle was in the 2600 block of North Pulaski when a Blazer that was heading northbound  in the southbound lane of the road drove towards them. Villalobos’ daughter attempted to avoid the Blazer but her car was hit on the passenger side.
The Logan Square resident and her daughter were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where Villalobos was pronounced dead at 5:18 a.m. The condition of the daughter was not known at this time. Another passenger in the car, a 25-year-old male, was not injured. The Blazer and the driver were found at a different location by police and interviewed about the accident.
