Wrongful death lawsuit asks over $50,000 from defendant in vehicular accident

Last Updated: 29 September, 2016

The widow of 21-year-old Aurora, Illinois resident Jose Quitl is asking for over $50,000 in damages from 24-year-old Maple Park resident Brandon Haller. According to a wrongful death lawsuit filed in Kane County, Haller caused the two-vehicle collision on Illinois Route 31 that killed Quitl on March 29, 2016.

According to investigations made by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, Quitl was driving his 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Illinois Route 31 when his vehicle collided with Haller’s 2010 Ford pickup as Haller headed southbound. Haller was taken to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva to receive medical attention for his non-life-threatening injuries, while Quitl was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
