Wrongful death lawsuit filed after fatal car crash

Last Updated: 08 October, 2012

The family of a man that was killed in a fatal drunk driving crash last year has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the drunk driver.

According to court documents, the family has sued the man charged with drunk driving as well as the golf club that continued to serve him alcohol.

The 58-year-old victim was traveling on a motorcycle northbound on Route 59 when he was struck by a 33-year-old driver who crossed the center line of the roadway.

The 33-year-old driver was then charged with aggravated drunk driving resulting in death and taken into custody. The man must reappear in court on Oct. 23. Before the accident occurred, the man was celebrating at a golf club for Victory Baseball. Both the baseball team and golf club have been named in the lawsuit.

Our deepest thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim in the accident.
