Wrongful death lawsuit filed in relation to Cook County pedestrian accident

The family of 61-year-old Indian national Rajendrakumar Shah filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Thursday, March 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against 23-year-old Michael Epley, The Chicago Sun Times reported.

Epley hit Rajendrakumar as he was crossing the street and then left the scene. Epley was charged with various violations, including aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and failure to stop after causing an accident involving personal injury or death. He was also cited for speeding, failing to look out for a pedestrian, and failing to render aid. The two parties settled out of court.
